A Titusville man is dead after driving in the wrong lane and hitting another vehicle head-on Saturday night, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The crash happened around 9 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Cedar Grove Road, south of Oak Hill.

The 64-year-old was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of U.S. 1 for “an unknown reason,” according to the FHP report. He was driving an SUV and hit a pickup truck head-on.

The Titusville resident was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, a 25-year-old Edgewater man, sustained minor injuries.

Both men were wearing seatbelts.
