A Titusville man who was driving the wrong way on Interstate 95 crashed head-on into a sedan driven by a Vero Beach woman early Thanksgiving morning in Volusia County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The crash occurred about 3:50 a.m. near mile marker 243, near Edgewater.

The Vero Beach woman, 70, suffered critical injuries. The Titusville man, 28, suffered serious injuries. Both drivers were transported to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach.

Troopers said the Titusville driver — for an unknown reason — was driving a sedan southbound in the northbound lanes of I-95. The Vero Beach woman was heading north when the crash occurred.

The crash remains under investigation.
